About WhyBasecampSux.org

Hello Project Manager!

I’m thinking you probably found this site via Google or some other link in the comments of a Basecamp-related blog post, right?  If you didn’t already know of the site you probably quickly deduced it was a Gripe Site which would be a correct deduction.

Yes, I was once so very angry with 37 Signals that I published a gripe site at WhyBasecampSux.org (37 Signals is the company that offers Basecamp.) Since that time several years have passsed and I’ve pretty much simmered down about the whole thing. What’s more I think many of my original critcisms of Basecamp are now moot. So in the interest of changing the tone of my contributions to the web I decided to abandon the bad karma of WhyBasecampSux.org and puruse good karma with efforts to help others find the best project management system for their needs even if that system happens to be Basecamp itself. After all, who knows; Basecamp might still be someone’s best solution even with all the other choices available?

On the other hand, as someone who once frequently blogged about Well Designed URLs I believe in Tim Berners Lee’s idea that URLs should not change. But sometimes URLs do need to change in which case I believe the content publisher should at least make the original content indirectly available if it was referenced elsewhere on the web. So if you want to see the last interation of the content at WhyBasecampSux.org just before I “shuttered” it; just click the following link.

But rather than stay mired in the past why not check out all PM-Sherpa has to offer, especially the most comprehensive list of project management solutions on the web?

Whatever your needs, thanks for visiting PM-Sherpa and I hope you find a project management solution that best fits your needs.
